Resorts World to welcome new Vietnamese Restaurant

Published on Friday, 15 November 2019

Resorts World are adding authentic international flair to their established line-up of restaurant brands.

Family-run local independent, Vietnamese Street Kitchen, will open on the first floor of the destination, strengthening their variety of popular restaurants including Miller & Carter, Zizzi and most recently, Five Guys.

Made freshly in-house from traditional family recipes, guests will enjoy a range of authentic Vietnamese dishes across both lunch and dinner. From street food style snacks like steamed bao buns and summer rolls, to larger meals including hot bowls of pho (hot noodle soup) and banh mi (a form of filled baguette dating back to the French colonial era), their traditional Vietnamese coffees are also a real highlight, typically served with condensed milk.

Resorts World will be restaurant number two for Vietnamese Street Kitchen, following their inaugural opening in Brindleyplace earlier this year. Launching with an all new look and feel, the young brand are working with award-winning Birmingham-based interiors firm, Faber, whose previous work includes Michelin starred restaurant, Adam’s, along with their second venue The Oyster Club and Kilder Bar by Original Patty Men.

Much like the menu, the design will transport guests 6000 miles to the streets of Vietnam, combining authentic Vietnamese screens & wildly eclectic bric-a-brac. From lantern lights, to street art, reclaimed timbers and stylish yet functional furniture, the restaurant space will replicate the street food stalls & restaurants at the heart of the South Asian country.

Oliver Ngo, Managing Director of the family-run business, is delighted to be opening their second site:

"We are delighted to be opening a second location so soon. We have seen that Birmingham has a real appetite for Vietnamese food and we’re so happy to be expanding our flavours into the wider West Midlands foodie scene.

Ian Bennett, Operations Director for Resorts World, said:

“We’re so thrilled to be adding new flavours to our restaurant mix here at Resorts World as well as supporting the expansion of an independent local business. Located in an ideal spot right next door to Cineworld and opposite our casino, Vietnamese Street Kitchen will further satisfy our guests’ desire for dining variety during their visit, day or night.”
